Staff learning!
Cubs,
As a staff, we have been working on the Five Strategies of Formative Assessment by Dylan Wiliam.  Teachers have been implementing the strategies in their classroom.  Check out the video.  If you are interested, his book is amazing - http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/embedded-formative-assessment-dylan-wiliam/1102047432?ean=9781934009307

What does it mean to be Casey Strong?  It means having GRIT to pursue Success for Every Student, Every Day.  We will promise every student and parent that we will care more than others think is wise, risk more than others think is safe, dream more than others think is practical and expect more than others think is possible.
When students arrive, we make a promise to Every Student that they all will learn to levels they never thought possible.   This is why the five strategies are so important and having GRIT character.  Students will have control over their learning.  They will know where they are going, where they are now and how they can close the gap.  Through hard work, perseverance and effort they can all achieve high standards of learning.  Believe It, Achieve It!

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!
“I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder” – G.K. Chesterton
The above quote describes what I observe and experience each day at Casey. This is the time of year where we all take a little time out of our busy schedules to spend time with our families and to be reminded of all we have to be thankful for. I am extremely grateful for the dedicated staff (true champions), the caring parents and amazing students at Casey. At Casey, we are extremely fortunate to have such an extraordinary learning community. Amongst the many things I have to be thankful for, I am appreciative of the opportunity to serve as your principal. I wish you a holiday season filled with much joy and meaningful time together with your family and friends.
