Parent Volunteers
Thank you for volunteering at Casey! Volunteers are an integral part of the BVSD community. We appreciate your desire to work with us to achieve greater service for all of the communities we serve. Volunteers make up a very important part of the BVSD community. You help us provide better service to our students. Thank you!
School Accountability Committee (SAC)
State and federal governments emphasize the inclusion of families in the educational accountability process. The School Accountability Committee (SAC) is a legally-constituted accountability and advisory committee of parent representatives that report to the school principal.
In general, the SAC is a representative advisory team that reviews school budgets, drives school improvements and supports parent engagement. In accordance with BVSD policy, a SAC member from each school shall serve on, and communicate with, the District Accountability Committee (DAC).
PTA
The Casey Middle School PTA is a parent organization that provides opportunities to create a strong school community through our mission to connect the home, school, and community and to enrich every child’s learning experience.
The PTA supports and sponsors many needs and events through the year:
- Check in Day
- Back to School Night
- Meals for staff during Parent/Teacher Conferences
- Staff Appreciation Week
- 8th Grade Continuation
FET
FET stands for Family and Educators Together. This is a parent and teacher group for families who have been historically underrepresented in the educational system. We work to increase equity, we ask for speakers to teach us about school systems, and we propose solutions to the administration about whatever is worrying us, all for the betterment of the school and our students! We meet the second Thursday of each month from 6 to 7:30. Meetings are run in Spanish with interpretation available to English or other languages on request.
